About me

Hi! I’m Kata, a postdoc at the Faculty of Informatics and Data Science at the University of Regensburg. Since January 2025, I have been a member of the Graduate Center for Postdocs at the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt).

In September 2023 I completed my PhD at the Faculty of Mathematics at Ruhr University Bochum under the supervision of Herold Dehling. In my PhD thesis, I worked on weighted change-point tests based on two-sample U-statistics for time series data.

In June 2023, I joined the University of Regensburg as a postdoctoral researcher in machine learning working with Merle Behr.

My research primarily focuses on interpretable and personalized machine learning, along with change-point analysis, applied within the fields of biomedicine, genetics, and the wider natural sciences. Details about my funded project within the bidt can be found here. As a member of Transregio 374 within the project Platforms for Bioinformatics Methodology and Geneprioritization, I am working on ensemble tree-based methods for gene prioritization for kidney-related diseases.
